At Active Manufacturing, we offer precision CNC machining services exclusively for prototyping and short-run production. We serve customers in various industries and machine parts with simple to intricate designs and close tolerance quality criteria. Our capabilities include 3-, 4-, 5-axis CNC machining and CNC lathe turning. We are accustomed to handling high mix, low volume projects and are ISO 9001 certified, and ITAR registered.
In our machining department, we operate high-end equipment capable of upholding close tolerances. With our high-speed 5-axis mill capable of machining elaborate design features and drilling at tricky angles, all from a single set up, we can generate close tolerance parts at fast cycle times. We also have a series of 3- and 4-axis machining centers and a CNC lathe for turning high-accuracy parts. Materials we work with include all commonly specified metals, like aluminum, alloy steel, stainless steel, etc., as well as high-temperature alloys and exotic grades. Our quality assurance tools include a CNC vision inspection system, CMM inspection system, and optical comparators to measure parts and verify they comply with specifications.
Our precision CNC machining services are advantageous for evolving product designs and accelerating time to market. We produce small batches of production-grade engineering prototypes and highly customized machined components for testing, pilot launch, and bridging the gap between product launch and production scale-up. Industries served range from automotive, defense, and aerospace to office furniture, food service, medical, etc. For more information about our precision CNC machining capabilities or to make an inquiry, contact us directly.
At Active Manufacturing, our production environment is focused exclusively on custom metal prototyping and short-run production. We are equipped to provide everything from form study prototypes to high fidelity, fully functional models manufactured from production-grade materials. Our integrated capabilities allow for cost-effective, fast-track production at every stage of prototyping to accelerate product development.
We have an extensive set of machine tools for manufacturing prototypes with simple to elaborate design criteria. Along with high-speed, high precision 5-axis CNC machining centers, we have 3-and 4-axis mills and a turning center for creating machined components. With three fiber lasers and two CO2 lasers, we can cut intricately detailed 2D and 3D shapes in sheet metal and tubing. Micro forming servo presses enable us to create high accuracy miniature to small-sized parts using thin sheets. We combine single-stage tooling with high tonnage mechanical and hydraulic presses to simulate deep draw and progressive die parts. Our assets also include EDMs for generating both tooling and blanks. For multi-part prototypes, we handle all aspects of assembly.
By upfront planning and optimizing the sequence of production steps, we expedite prototype manufacturing from start to finish. We offer a range of material choices, including aluminum, steel, beryllium copper, stainless steel, etc. Our prototyping services are backed up by a technically skilled staff that uses a team-based approach to cover all aspects of production and quality inspection.
Our metal prototyping services adhere to ISO 9001:2015 manufacturing standards, and we use high-end metrology tools, like vision systems, CMMs, and optical comparators, to verify quality. We supply highly engineered prototypes to customers in various industries, including the automotive, defense, aerospace, medical, office furniture, food service, and others. As part of our prototyping and small volume production services, Active Manufacturing’s capabilities include metal stamping. We have the skills and equipment to form miniature to large, thin gauge to heavy gauge parts from various metals. Our stamping services allow us to provide highly accurate components with simple to complex geometries, quickly and cost-effectively.
Our stamping department houses a diversity of presses. Along with micro forming servo presses and larger servo presses rated at 3.5 tons, we have hydraulic presses in the 5-ton to 100-ton range and mechanical presses rated from 35 to 220 tons. Our servo presses are programmable and allow us to control position, speed, and pressure to uphold a high degree of dimensional precision. With our range of servo presses, we can stamp parts in various gauges, including thin metal sheet. For larger pieces, we use single-stage tooling to emulate what a deep draw or progressive die production shop would produce. The single-stage tooling enables us to make shapes of various sizes and complexities.
To back up our stamping operations, we use EDM to create custom tooling and for cutting blanks. We also have a range of CNC machines for secondary processing. For inspection, we use CMMs, vision systems, and optical comparators to verify that parts conform to specifications.
As a company specializing in prototyping and high mix, low volume manufacturing, we have a flexible and open production environment and a very talented staff with a considerable mix of skills. From production-grade engineering prototypes to small batches of stamped components, our products exhibit a high caliber of quality. We supply high-quality parts that accelerate product development in the automotive, defense, aerospace, office furniture, food service, and medical industries.
